Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet transporting Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed based on standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This incident does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
