Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
