World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of High Performance

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.

She garnered almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".

Other WTA Award Honorees

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, received the award after taking a 13-month break after the birth of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport earlier this season.
• Rookie of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after starting the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and rising to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second Grand Slam title together.
• Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five championship matches.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted fans' favourite for a third time.
