Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
