Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
